About Kevin

Hello, my visitors! This is Minkun Wang, currently a Ph.D. candidate (5th year) in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. I also work as a research assistant in Department of Oncology at Georgetown University, co-supervised by Dr. Guoqiang Yu and Dr. Habtom W. Ressom. My research interests include probabilistic modeling, Bayesian inference, machine learning, and bioinformatics. Specifically, I am aiming to apply statistical machine learning methods to the mass spectrometry data analysis in multiomic (e.g., proteomics, glycomics, metabolomics, etc.) studies, which help identify candidate biomarkers for related diseases including cancer. My tasks focus on 1) LC-MS based glycomic and proteomic data preprocessing, 2) computational purification of heterogenous LC/GC-MS data in biomarker discovery studies.
